Robin in Hoylake

Extra Poetry

Focussed

A haloed moon sparkles
in the sky, on the grass
that crunches beneath my feet

I step into darkness
beneath the oak and watch
your lights come on one by one

Waiting for a shadow,
an outline on a blind
a share in the end of your day.

The light dims; flickering
show of a TV screen
and is finally darkened.

I shiver home surrounded
by the mist of my breath
wishing I could share your warmth.
